Celebrate Easter by Flying a Kite!

Egg hunting is the universal activity to celebrate Easter, while there's another must-do activity for people in Bermuda: Kite Flying on Good Friday.

Flying a Kite
The long-established tradition of Bermuda's Good Friday Kites originated from a legendary story that a Sunday school teacher wanted to show his students Jesus's Ascension into heaven. He carried a self-made cross kite to the hilltop, flew it and then cut the string to set it float in the sky when his students watched upwards from the bottom of the hill.

Happy Easter
The Bermuda kites today are typically colorful and hexagonal (larger ones have more sides). Local people make their own Kites and vote for the most beautiful ones.
